Who we are:

We are Marjolijne and Michèle – two passionate horse coaches with a big heart for both people and horses. What unites us is our love of horses and our shared passion for guiding others in their personal growth. Together, we founded our practice, Coaching with Hooves, with the loving support of, among others, Lex, our coaching horse.

Using motivational interviewing and the powerful presence of horses, we create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can truly get to the core. The horses reflect what's going on inside you in a pure and honest way, and we help you translate those insights into practical steps toward greater balance, clarity, and self-confidence. Whether you're looking for peace, self-awareness, new direction, or simply want to reflect on who you are—you're welcome with us, just the way you are.

We are a member of the Dutch Horse Coaching Association (https://v-pcn.nl/leden-beroepsvereniging-paardencoaching/).

From a young age, I've been fascinated by animals. Dogs and horses, especially. Later in life, I started horseback riding, and after riding Roos as a passenger, I took her over and have always cared for her. Then came Lex, the tall, handsome Frisian gelding. A magnificent, large, and exceptionally friendly gelding. Lex spends the whole day enjoying himself in a herd in Broek in Waterland. He supports me during coaching sessions.

My children are all busy with their own lives, and I was ready for a whole new, next step. I started training to become a horse coach. Coaching with horses came to me through my own experience with horses and what these animals can mean to people. The feeling a horse can give you—warmth, attention, and clarity—is something I enjoy and learn a lot from. How wonderful it is to experience something like that and to be able to share it with others!

My name is Marjolijne. I live in Amstelveen with my husband and three daughters. After working as a nurse for over 10 years, I decided to start my own business. I retrained as a Professional Organizer. I also started volunteering at a dog and horse training school in Amstelveen. My love for horses rekindled. As an organizer, I wanted to delve deeper into good coaching techniques and how to ask probing questions. Everything came together for me during the equine coach training program, which included motivational interviewing techniques.

When I'm with the horses, I'm completely in the here and now. I often forget about time and everything that still needs to be done. I want this for you too. A moment in the here and now, all your attention. Let the horses guide you through this.
